Registered Unemployment Rate in Bulgaria Continues to Decline

The registered unemployment rate continues to decline in August, reaching 5.6%, according to data from the Employment Agency.

According to statistics, the registered unemployed people at the end of the month are 183,962, and the number shrunk by 1% compared to the previous month and by 15.8% compared to a year earlier. Since the beginning of the year, the number of unemployed people in labor offices has decreased by over 22%. The newly registered during the month are 22,189 and 15,764 people were hired.

The largest share of vacancies was reported in manufacturing (22.1%), administrative activities (17.7%), education (16%), trade (12.1%), construction (6.2%), hotels and restaurants (6.2%), and others.

The most sought professions during the month were teachers, personnel employed in the field of personal services, mining, construction and transport workers, vendors, metallurgists, machine builders, etc.
