Three Bulgarian Ministers Resign After the Svoge Crash

The ministers of transport, regional development, and home affairs leave the cabinet because of the Svoge crash. At this stage, it is not clear who their substitutes will be.

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov asked for the resignations of Ivaylo Moskovski, Nikolay Nankov, and Valentin Radev, at an emergency session of the cabinet on Friday and they were later deposited. It became clear that they are most likely going to occupy positions in Parliament as former MPs.

Later on Friday, at a briefing in the Council of Ministers, Ministers Nankov and Radev explained that they resigned not because of the opposition's request, but because they are people with moral and political responsibility. Moskovski did not appear because he was on a sick leave.

According to unofficial information from Mediapool, the party GERB has initially opposed the resignation of the ministers because that way they admit the blame for the incident.
