41% of Bulgarians Would Not Report Corruption

The results of the National Representative Survey of Transparency International show that 41% of Bulgarian citizens would not report corruption.

In certain situations, citizens would report if they witness corruption or have information about it. In such cases, the respondents said that they would alert the media - 24.5%, the police - 20%, the Anti-Corruption Commission - 13.5%, the control body - 10.2% and the prosecution's office - 10.1%.

36.5% of respondents would counteract the phenomenon by not bribing. At the same time, 36.2% think that they can do nothing to help fight corruption.

Almost 30% would help an anti-corruption agency and 19.7% of citizens believe that information campaigns should be conducted among the population to counteract corruption.
