The Bulgarian Parliament Is Sorry for Its Attitude Towards the Protesters Yesterday

Yesterday, we reported the protest of the parents of children with disabilities. However, it seems that the MPs in the National Assembly weren't as accommodating as they should have been.

The protesters weren't allowed into the Assembly to express their dissatisfaction with the current policies on people with disabilities.

Today, the Parliament issued an apology. The MPs said that it was the security guards' decision to strictly follow protocol and not allow the protesters into the building. This did not stop the opposition from demanding the deputy speaker's Emil Hristov resignation.

The deputy speaker apologized to the disabled people who went out to protest. He admitted that yesterday the Parliament showed its bad side. Hristov said that nobody knows exactly what went wrong and assured that he wasn't notified of the problem as it was happening.

He said he was sorry for the misunderstanding and for not being able to meet with protesters and hearing them out.
