Bulgarian President to Visit Russia

After giving a lecture at the University of National and World Economy, the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev announced that he'd be visiting Russia and President Putin in May of this year. The exact dates are May 21st and May 22nd.

When asked whether or not he was made aware of the government's official stance on the attacks in Syria in advance, the President said that he wasn't. He pointed out, however, that the "Military information" service, as well as the National Investigative Agency, have done a good job in informing Bulgarians in those territories.

According to the President, the operation in Syria shows that the UN is being more and more neglected and there is no organization that can take its place. President Radev believes this further puts the world at risk rather than doing the opposite. Radev added that along with Syria, the Balkans will be a very important subject during the meeting of the Consultative Council for National Security
