Burgas Airport Road Cut Off By Landslide

Heavy rain caused a landslide that closed the road to Burgas airport. The land mass fell under the bridge that connects the Sarafovo district, Sunny Beach, and Burgas with the airport. There are no reports of anyone being injured or any cars getting buried in the landslide. The incident caused a large traffic jam on the road.

Teams from the police, fire department, and the local government administration in Burgas are currently investigating the landslide. They will decide whether the land mass could cause damage to the bridge and whether the road to Burgas airport should be closed off entirely. Delays in transportation and flights are to be expected.

Focus-news interviewed the police’s spokeswoman Tsvetelina Randeva, who stated: “Some land mass fell on the overpass of the roundabout to Sarafovo, but there are nobody injured and no engulfed automobiles.”
