Increase in Bulgarian Couples That Have Reproductive Problems

Couples living in the countryside tend to have fewer problems with their reproductive health. Home-grown food and fresh air seem to have a positive effect on birth rates. These are the expert opinions of the gynecologist and in vitro specialist Dr. Petra Semerdzhieva. According to her, the number of couples that cannot conceive a child is rising.

Dr. Semerdzhieva commented that nowadays it's not only women who have reproductive problems. "I have seen some bad seminograms as well," she added. The data she points to suggest that 30% of unsuccessful pregnancies are because of women's health. However, the number is the same for pregnancies failed because of the man or because of both partners being unfertile. There is a working theory that lifestyle plays a huge part in fertility. Home-grown products have a better quality. In fact, Semerdzhieva's practice shows that older women from the countryside are in better reproductive health than young women living in big cities.
