Bulgarian MP Calls for Help to Save Children's Hospital Wing in Smolyan

The chairwoman of the Healthcare Committee in Bulgaria's National Assembly Dr. Daniela Daritkova reached out to the Bulgarian pediatricians through her Facebook profile. Dr. Daritkova is concerned that the lack of staff members in the children's hospital in Smolyan might lead to the department closing doors for an undefined period of time.

Dr. Daritkova explains that the hospital wing has been renovated and newly equipped. The hospital's administration is prepared to pay good money to doctors ready to help because helping children is more important than any financial burden. Dr. Daritkova also announced that she has already included herself in the hospital's schedule for January 2018, hoping that others will follow her example.

Smolyan's hospital is lacking staff because of doctors going into their pension years. It is currently winter and the risk of catching a virus, the flu or a simple cold is quite real. Dr. Daritkova is urging her fellow pediatricians to help and we really do hope that her message gets the attention it deserves.
